***NEW LEGISLATION 2024 - Banned Breeds and the Dangerous Dogs Act including XL Bullies and Type Dogs***
If the Banned Breeds requirements are relevant to you, please see below;
Prior to booking Pooch’s Paddock for the use with any Banned Breed dog, the owner must supply Pooch’s Paddock with the following documents in advance;
· Exemption Certificate · Insurance Certificate · Proof of Micro Chip · Proof of Neutering in line with gov rules
Banned Breeds Field Rules and Procedure
· The banned breed dog must be registered with the Index of Exempted Dog (IED) and Public Liability Insurance must be in place. The dog also must be neutered and micro chipped.
· All dogs must be on a lead and muzzled in the car park area (public place) prior to and after using the field. (All dogs no matter of the breed must be on a lead in this area also).
· Once inside the field, the gate is to be closed and locked with a padlock – you are required to bring your own personal padlock when using Pooch’s Paddock. This will eliminate any issues out of your control ie if any other user loses the general lock, key etc. As hirer for a banned breed, you are required to provide your own lock to secure the gate.
· The lead and muzzle can be removed once locked in the field if you wish to.
· Only one household of dogs may attend together, banned breeds can not attend as part of a group booking and cannot mix with any dogs from other households.
· The dog handler ratio is required to be 1:1 at all times for banned breeds (adult handlers). If attending with additional dogs from the same household that are not banned breeds, it is 1:1 with the banned breed dog and additionally 1 adult handler for the other breeds.
For example;
1 x Banned Breed = 1 Adult Handler
2 x Banned Breeds (same household) = 2 Adult Handlers
3 x Banned Breeds (same household) = 3 Adult Handlers
1 x Banned Breed + 2 other breeds (same household) = 2 Adult Handlers
As the person making the booking, you are responsible for all people and dogs on the field during the booked slot, ensuring that all the conditions of hire are adhered to at Pooch's Paddock.
